Careful attempts to come closer,
you estimate your actions,
you count your steps
while counting on my mouth,
ajar,
to invite you nearer
as I whisper you secrets
about my inner beauty
and broken parts of my heart,
making you remember
every moment
that was my past,
and now it’s going to be your future.
You put yourself above the rest,
sharing tea with me becomes
your obsession,
a herbal drug of a hooked up soul,
adjusting schedules to fit my needs,
as I adjust myself between your legs
in return.
You melt into the warmth of my skin
wanting to conquer
every living corner of my mind,
so you could fill it
with the presence of yourself,
but that’s only
if I let you.
– Chatty Owl –
In this poem, you articulate very well the veiled underpinnings of sexual desire. I find the voice of your persona to be very alluring. It is calm, collected & in-control, but all the while calculating – ex. hidden agenda, secret knowledge, or clairvoyance. I always get the feeling that a spell is being cast on the reader – they ensnare confidently, and are bold, but nevertheless contain a repressed and quiet disarray lurking underneath the surface. The oracular voice gains potency as the poem progresses, and I find of great value how you’ve expressed that very clear boundary at the end.
As a side note, I read this poem while listening to the song “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac – and, I must say the underscoring was at times starkly in-sync, and mesmerizing.
Lovely work!
Long time no see, mister. Thank you for such in-depth and time-consuming comment. Im glad you were able to see that behind the veil of my poetry.
As you know, Im a big fan of your works and the intelligence that lingers in your words.
Thanks for stopping by, dear.
By the way, that Flatwood Mac song is mesmerising.

Lyrical ambrosia.
Oh, thats such a compliment, hook. Thanks dear.
Tea drinking and the sharing of is an obsession to some of the cultural clichés such as myself.
You are not alone on that.
Excellent, excellent, excellent!! 🙂
Awww thanks mister. Excellent you say? I can live with that 😉
how i’ve missed your sharp and bright, mysterious and lingering verse. x tony
Oh darling, where have you been? 🙂 x
Love a cup of tea me – enjoyed the starchy crispness of the writing
Thanks a lot. A teacup deserves some ginger mustache.
Send me one!
Will do!
LOVE the new format! Oooh Miss Owl… interpretations can make the heart climb and race! Herbal is safer than caffeine ) Swarthy ! Faithfully Debbie
Thanks Debbie. I’m having issues trying to decide how I want the site to look. But I’m glad you liked it. I hope all is well with you, dear. How are you feeling?
I’m better Miss Owl… recuperating from a dislocated shoulder but, things could always be worse! LOVE u wise owl~ xx Debbie
Oh dear., thats unfortunate! Glad to see you are recovering x
and the femme fatale does it again ~ as only in your seductive style ~ like the last teasing line – nice lovely – very nice. x
Oh dear, you are so kind.. Hardly femme fatale 😉
Beautifully written and perfect with my cup of tea.
Fancy a biscuit with your tea? 🙂
First of all let’s make it coffee not tea, because c’mon seriously!
Secondly, don’t ever let me diminish you with my presence, as if it’s even possible to extinguish your essence.
Lastly, but most important, the broken parts of your heart are the components I love most so if that’s the future then it deserves a fucking toast! Cheers ❤️
🙂 but coffee doesnt have the same tantrum-like ritual as tea drinking does 🙂 even though i must admit, its been a while since i had a proper tea pot brewing! ☺️
True
If you brew some Earl Grey I’d happily sit and sip a cup with you 😉
Sure! Let me put the kettle on 😉
Be right over 😊
On second though I think I’ll just pop down to the tea shop. Want anything while I’m there?
Maybe some milk? 😉
You got it.
Are you joining me for tea?
of course, but it may take a while for me to get there.
Im patient.
good
But will you…..is it all just a game…..?
Everything is a game to some degree.
Chatty…as always…your poetry makes my heart thunder. My breath go short. And I cannot help but fall deeply madly tumbling into your words…never to come up-back to reality.
Its been a while i saw you on my blog, dear. Its nice to see that my words still make your mind think and enjoy them. By the way, congrats on getting your book sorted out, im looking forward to get my hands on a copy of that!
I know! I’ve been away for much to long…I was happy to see that you were still writing on here. My heart fell a little when I saw that you had started another break. I was worried as to how long it would be before you started up again! Your poetry is always fantastic…I’ve found myself reading your poetry book over and over and over again. It’s so addicting!
And thank you! I cannot wait for you to take it in your hands and furiously turn the pages soaking in each word and syllable. No greater honor then that!
I know! You’ve been away for so long, I was thinking you wont be back. But I’m glad you are back now and with exciting news too….
Me too! It was so nice to start posting again…I hated being away for so long. I feel like I’ve missed so much. And I’m glad you are excited about the news! Now you know why I was gone for so long! 🙂
It better be worth it 😛
Always in control huh?
Trying….
I love it by the way. A beautiful romantic dance.
A dance that shouldn’t be danced alone.
so very lovely and decadent – tea without sympathy – all the power is yours
Tea is a sign of hostility and respect to a person you share it with. If one can hide the real cold sentiments behind the mask of it, then its an enemy worth knowing.
wow – I shall never think of tea the same again
I’m glad to change your views about things in life.

There is a movie scene were this gal is serving tea to a warlord who is ready to invade his opponents, I can imagine these thoughts running through her mind to keep him from moving on his action. Great work, love it.
What movie is it? Sounds intriguing! Thanks for stopping by 😉
The movie is called “Red Cliff” great for watch when you can’t sleep.
I will look into it and will let you know, if it didn’t make me fall asleep, haha!
If I let you…love that!
Thanks! I thought I needed a strong ending here.
There are many other lines that caught me in this piece…the last one says so much that I had to comment on it.
Thank you. Its nice to see that i could trigger a response with my poetry.
That was not a comeback…I would have mentioned it if it had been…that was inspired by the pictures and the ‘dreams’ prompt…I love ordering a Hot Passion tea at Starbucks and I’ve always wondered who came up with that name! Just learned that they own Tazo Tea Company so ‘they’ came up with it…as it gets colder here, I drink hot tea…if I go into Starbucks I order one unsweetened because I’m sweet enough 😉
I wasn’t referring to your poem, I was referring to the fact that you responded to my poem by commenting on it. I’m sure you’re sweet as sugar candy.
You are beautiful! Thank you 🙂
A gentleman should ask for permission even if it’s for Chinese tea 😉
Food manners, I see? 😉
Where are you btw? Your emails need attention 😉
My emails are over-loaded and Im struggling to get to them. Sorry…
Oh I see 😦
The poem somehow reminds me coconut oil, melting in palm and soothing skin and heart 🙂
Thats a beautiful visual 🙂
