You are nothing
but a vague distraction
from all my lazy coffee drinking,
foggy afternoons
and
busy thoughts,
that
I am trying to ignore.
You are
a mere and utter entertainment,
for when my eyes are bored
to read the words
of someone famous.
I turn to you.
All foreign sayings
lead in one direction –
chase.
We’re like a pair of fluffy kittens,
fiddling with the ball.
Or balls.
Or other body parts of such.
You run,
I wait.
I run,
you catch.
I stand,
you wait.
For more attention.
Never-ending cycle.
Easy, right?
We change momentum,
time to time,
but all it changes
is our lust,
which is, ironically,
just disappearing faster.
– Chatty Owl –
I loved how you changed the momentum through out this piece… I sprinted, i walked, i paused to stalk what i read a second ago… that was beautiful
I’m glad you picked up on my ever-changing pace. That’s the beauty of the journey!
we all learn
through play
~
some
distractions
novelties
unexpectedly jolt
lessons
of
inexplicable knowledge
True. So very true.
Killer ending…a dagger of a finishing line…loved this, Ms Owl 🙂
You are the master of killer endings, so im glad you liked mine!
You called me master…. 😉
lol
Mister 😛
We play with a toy but quickly tire of it in favor of newer models. We use a tool but different tasks require different types. We cherish a treasure because it’s unique and isn’t come by easily, so we recognize its immense value and therefore treat it accordingly!
This is where the problem lies – we see a toy and think its a treasure. Until we realise our perception was wrong and the search continues, leaving a toy abandoned into the hands of someone else, that is mot necessary as careful with it as we once were and it gets damaged in the hands of a new owner.
That’s why they have toy repair shops, unless it was one of those cheap toys made in China in which case it usually just ends up in a land fill. Ok that probably didn’t help at all did it?!!
Ha ha. Maybe! This again, reminded me of china and the price of tea 😉
Hehe what can I say, everything relates to it! 😜
In case you were wondering, as of today it’s £1.45 per kilo!
………oh, sorry; the price of tea in China 😉
Haha! You always make me giggle! 🙂 expensive tea.
I am so in awe of the way you play with words ❤
Im glad. But you know it. 🙂
Beautiful! 🙂
Thank you 🙂 surprised you liked!
Wonderful write, things do change so fast…
Too fast and sometimes not in the direction that we want, which leaves people hurt.
The dance of lovers is always so fickle and ever changing, great passion is lost to this world I fear. Even a good muse is hard to find this century.
Tight Hugs Ms.Owl
Sometimes I wonder, if being/having a muse is not over-rated. If you had to choose, would you rather have one or be one to somebody instead?
Of rather be one I think lol seems like a much easier job 😉
Ha ha! But wonder if its as fulfilling!
Probably not, I do enjoy my poetess the best.
🙂 what a gentleman.
lust always wanes – love only sometimes
True again…
I am running. Are you waiting? Love is falling down like big drops from my eyes.
Beautiful poem, Chatty.
Regards,
Rafael
Love shouldn’t be tears. Even though most of the time it is.
Im neither waiting, nor not. Im just here, observing 🙂
ooh 1 ply toilet paper. it scares me
Shhh. Don’t be scared.
Splendid, love the coffee reference.
Thanks… I have noticed myself that coffee is a repeated thing in my poetry, but its such big part of me, i don’t seem to be able to get rid of it, when i write! 🙂
Doesn’t strike me as something to be worried about, have you noticed the musical references in a lot of my posts?
Well, music to me anyway 😉
Ummm.. That made me thinking 🙂
Ummm fancy sharing? 🙂
Nopes 😛
Absolutely Stunning
Woohoo!
YOU NAILED IT!
(:
